THE HISTORY
Since December 30, 1774, it has been Milan’s true influencer. Standing tall at 108.5 meters on the highest spire of the Duomo, it was designed by sculptor Giuseppe Perego and crafted in copper by architect Croce, then gilded.
FUN FACT
According to tradition, no building should be taller than the Madonnina.
When skyscrapers exceeding its height were built, a replica of the Madonnina was placed on each of them.
